Joseph Nwadiuko, MD, PhD is an internal medicine physician, health economist, and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in the Division of Hospital Medicine. His focus involves global health and health systems with a focus on immigration and incarceration. His work has been published in JAMA, JAMA Network Open, The Lancet, and Health Affairs. He has spoken at the State Department, USAID, and the Department of Homeland Security, and has been a consultant for the World Bank.
He completed his BA at Amherst College, his MD at the University of Pittsburgh, his MPH and residency at Johns Hopkins, and his general internal medicine fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his PhD in Health Policy and Management (Economics Cognate) at UCLA.
