Karthik Rajasekaran, MD, FACS

Karthik Rajasekaran, MD, FACS is an Assistant Professor of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine. Dr. Rajasekaran’s research has focused on clinical and patient outcomes in those undergoing head and neck oncologic surgery. Since the management of head and neck malignancies requires complex, multidisciplinary approaches for adequate oncologic resection and restoration of function and quality of life, Dr. Rajasekaran has focused a lot of his research efforts in developing clinical care pathways to facilitate this process. Specific areas that he has focused on are pain management, early mobilization, perioperative education, and early rehabilitation. Dr. Rajasekaran completed his medical degree with distinction in research at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his otorhinolaryngology residency at the Cleveland Clinic, and then completed a fellowship in advanced oncologic, microvascular, and skull base surgery at the University of Pennsylvania.
