Levia Sutton, MSN, CRNA

Levia Sutton, MSN, CRNA, is a PhD student in the School of Nursing, a Penn Presidential PhD Fellow, and a Fontaine Society Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research interests include trauma-informed care and advancing health equity with a particular interest in the health and well-being of Black women living in urban communities experiencing violence.

Levia earned her MSN from the University of Pennsylvania’s Nurse Anesthesia Program in 2008. Her clinical anesthesia practice has primarily been at Level-1 academic trauma centers serving urban communities in Pennsylvania and in Northern California. Prior to becoming a nurse anesthetist, Levia practiced as a critical care nurse in New York City and in Philadelphia. She earned her BSN from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 2003.
