Louis-Xavier Barrette, MD

Louis-Xavier Barrette, MD is a resident in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck surgery at Penn. During his time at the Perelman School of Medicine, Dr. Barrette leveraged interests in engineering and medical technology as a member of PennHealthX and conducted significant research in reconstructive surgery and otolaryngology focusing on quality improvement and clinical outcomes. Originally from Quebec City, Canada, Dr. Barrette initially attended the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia studying classical guitar performance. Upon completing an Artist’s Diploma at Curtis, he pursued a BS in Chemical and Biological Engineering at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, graduating summa cum laude and valedictorian of his class.
