Lucy Andersen, RN is a doctoral student at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. She is also pursuing her Masters of Bioethics at Penn.
Her research interests include the impact of an oncology diagnosis on patients’ quality of life with a focus on health care disparities. She is also interested in how nursing care can improve patient outcomes who are undergoing CAR-T cell and other new immunotherapy treatments.
Andersen graduated from Villanova University in 2018 and worked as a hematology-oncology nurse at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital for two years. Her experiences working with patients who have hematological malignancies in the diverse area of Washington, D.C. has guided her focus to research the impact of social determinants of health on people with cancer.
