Vinny Ahluwalia is a fourth-year medical student at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. His research in the past has focused on the intersection of artificial intelligence and health care through the development of machine learning models. After beginning medical school, he became involved in the Penn Summer Advocacy Class, where he led first- and second-year medical students through the process of advocating for legislation at the Pennsylvania state level, and also began volunteering at the Puentes de Salud clinic. Through these experiences, he developed an interest in health care policy and is pursuing the MSHP in order to study health care payer systems and the role of artificial intelligence in improving patient care. Clinically, he plans to pursue an internal medicine residency. He is originally from the suburbs of Chicago and graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in computer science and a minor in biochemistry.
