In March 2025, LDI Senior Fellow Rebecca Stewart, PhD testified before the Philadelphia City Council Committees on Public Safety and Public Health and Human Services on behalf of Molly Candon, PhD and the team at the Center for Mental Health, addressing the state of mobile crisis services in Philadelphia. The testimony emphasized the positive impact of mobile crisis services and highlighted findings from an early evaluation of Philadelphia’s Crisis 2.0 initiative, which suggested these services may help reduce the need for costly psychiatric hospitalizations.
