
Dev Gupta
Dev Y. Gupta is a Pre-Professional Scholar in Medicine at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), where he is a candidate for a B.A. in Quantitative Economics and Healthcare Management with minors in Health Policy, Biology, and Chemistry, and a M.D. in CWRU’s BS/MD program.
As a SUMR Scholar, Gupta works with Dr. Sean Hennessy to examine trends in asthma and allergy medication use and associated drug-drug interactions, and with Dr. Elizabeth Salazar on analyzing the impact of private equity ownership in pediatric and perinatal healthcare access and quality.
At CWRU, he serves as Chief Legal Officer of Horizons Community Clinic, a medical student-run clinic system supporting uninsured populations in Cleveland, Ohio and founder of Guitars for Good Incorporated, a non-profit that supports pediatric music therapy. He also conducts research at the Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Value-Based Care Research, where he studies health economics, and the demographic and policy factors influencing treatment patterns in various medical specialties. His research interests include health economics, decision science, and the intersection of clinical policy and social equity in healthcare delivery.
