Furman University , Class of 2027

Major: Mathematics-Economics

Minor: Data Analytics

Eno Etuk is a junior majoring in Mathematics-Economics with a minor in Data Analytics on a pre-med track at Furman University. She is passionate about gaining a deeper understanding of the disparities in the access to healthcare and how it intersects with economics. She looks forward to how the SUMR experience will provide her with new perspectives and insight in how to conduct research. Etuk hopes to make a positive impact on those around her and plans to pursue a career in medicine.

Etuk is working with Dr. Rebecca Brown on a research project that aims to investigate functional impairment in the middle-age population, and why the statistics around it are worsening with time. She is also working with Dr. Kira Ryskina to explore how the care of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias in nursing homes directly impacts patients.

At Furman, Etuk has been a member of Furman University Women in Economics (FUWEI), which aims to help women develop their academic and career paths alongside other women with similar interests, forming a strong support system before they enter the male-dominated professional field. In her free time, she loves to crochet, run, and read mystery books.
