Noah Jenkins

Major: Economics, Mathematics, and Political Science

Noah Jenkins is a senior pursuing a Bachelor of Arts with a triple major in Economics, Mathematics, and Political Science at the University at Buffalo. He has interests in health economics – focusing on public insurance schemes, inequality, and policy relevance. Jenkins plans to earn a Ph.D. in economics and pursue a career in research to explore how to reduce health disparities and improve access to quality treatment options.

During the SUMR program, Jenkins works on three projects – one with Dr. Zachary Meisel at the Center for Health Economics of Treatment Interventions for Substance Use Disorder, HCV, and HIV (CHERISH) on disseminating substance use disorder research to policymakers. The other projects explore biopharmaceutical alliance networks and area-level measures of socioeconomic status with Grace Park and Aidan Crowley, respectively.

At the University at Buffalo, Jenkins has pursued previous mentored research on spillover effects associated with public insurance schemes like Medicaid. He also enjoys teaching – as a teaching assistant and tutor in quantitative coursework. Outside of his academic pursuits, he maintains a love for literature and a passion for cooking.
