Alexis Zollo, PhD is a counseling psychologist and postdoctoral fellow at AMETHIST@Penn, studying implementation science and maternal health equity. Her research seeks to advance the quality and accessibility of mental health care available throughout the reproductive lifespan, with the overarching goal of reducing the prevalence of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and improving the lived experience of birthing people.

Dr. Zollo received her Master’s of Education in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University in 2020. She completed her PhD in Counseling Psychology from Fordham University in 2024 with a focus on reproductive psychology. Her dissertation work investigated the impact of medical discrimination on the development of perinatal post-traumatic stress disorder following childbirth in Black women.
