Alice Abernathy, MD, MSHP is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research interests include exploring the links between constrained abortion access and the structural determinants of maternal morbidity and mortality. She is also interested in novel health care delivery platforms aimed to improve preconception and early pregnancy care. She earned an MD from the University of Florida College of Medicine and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. Most recently, she earned an MSHP degree and completed the National Clinician Scholars Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
