Joanna Hart, MD, MSHP is a Pulmonary and Critical Care physician at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a core faculty member of the Palliative and Advanced Illness Research Center and affiliated with the Center for Health Incentives and Behavioral Economics. Her research focuses on medical decisions under conditions of uncertainty, particularly preference-sensitive decisions in serious illness care. She received her undergraduate degree in Sociology from Northwestern University and her medical degree from the University of Virginia. Dr. Hart completed her Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, and Critical Care training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and earned a Master’s of Science in Health Policy Research from the University of Pennsylvania.
