Kathryn Connell, PhD, RN is an Assistant Professor of Nursing in the Department of Biobehavioral Health Sciences and the Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Research at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. She is a nurse scientist at the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center and an affiliated faculty member of the Palliative and Advanced Illness Research Center. Her research examines how nursing practices and ICU organizational structures influence patient outcomes.
Dr. Connell is also an active critical care nurse at Pennsylvania Hospital, where her clinical practice informs her research. She earned her BSN from Rutgers University in 2018 and her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania in 2021.
