Rithambara (Rithu) Ramachandran, MD, MSc is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Ramachandran’s primary research interest lies in identifying barriers to eye care screening in communities at high risk for blindness, with the goal of utilizing innovative technologies to design and implement sustainable and scalable community programs. She earned her Medical Doctorate and completed her ophthalmology residency at New York University Grossman School of Medicine, participating in its prestigious accelerated three-year MD program. Following her residency, she undertook a two-year glaucoma clinical research fellowship at the University of Michigan’s Kellogg Eye Center, during which she also earned her Master’s in Healthcare and Healthcare Research through the Institute for Healthcare Policy & Innovation’s Scholars Program.
