Video: Katrina Armstrong at LDI 50th Anniversary Symposium

As part of the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics’ 50th Anniversary Symposium, former LDI Senior Fellow and Penn Medicine Chief of General Internal Medicine Katrina Armstrong received the LDI John M. Eisenberg Pioneer Award. Armstrong, MD, is currently a Professor at the Harvard School of Medicine and Physician-in-Chief and Chair of the Department of Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. After accepting the award, she spoke from the podium for 21 minutes to a packed house of former Penn colleagues and friends.

In her remarks, Armstrong spoke of the influence of award namesake John Eisenberg and how she is carrying on some of his lessons in her daily work in Boston. She also praised other Penn mentors who played important roles in shaping her career and emphasized the critical importance of mentorship.
