Lindsay Zhang
Lindsay Zhang is pursuing a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She previously earned a B.S. in Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University where was involved in projects investigating the mechanisms underlying alcohol use disorders. At the University of Pittsburgh, she also participated in research determining the effects of diverse anesthetics on memory and pain perception. Zhang is excited to further develop her research skills to contribute to work aimed at increasing health equity.
Zhang works with Dr. Michael Glick and Dr. Alonso Carrasco-Labra of the Penn Dental Medicine Center for Integrative Global Oral Health. The project investigates the relationship between antibiotic prophylaxis usage for infectious endocarditis prevention and the frequency of adverse outcomes in dental procedures.
At Penn Dental Medicine, Zhang is the Fundraising Chair for the mentoring organization, Mentorship, and an Executive Board member of Penn Dental Project
Happiness. Outside of the dental school, she serves as the Facility Management Advisor and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisor for the women’s fraternity, Kappa Alpha Theta at the University of Pennsylvania.
