Atul Gupta, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Health Care Management at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He joined Wharton in 2017 from Stanford University. He is an applied microeconomist with research interests in health economics, public economics, and industrial organization. His current research examines various determinants of productivity in U.S. health care including payment reform for providers, provider ownership and consolidation, and physician learning dynamics. He received his PhD in Economics from Stanford University.
