Jason S. Schnittker, PhD is Professor of Sociology in the School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Schnittker is interested in the social, cultural, institutional, and biological determinants of health. His recent research has focused on the effects of incarceration on health, as well as the ongoing dilemmas surrounding the classification of psychiatric disorders. His research has also explored the rise of anxiety disorders in the 21st century. Dr. Schnittker earned his PhD in Sociology from Indiana University.
