Melanie Kornides, ScD, MSN is an Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing in the Department of Family and Community Health. Dr. Kornides is an epidemiologist and nurse scientist whose research focuses on strategies to dispel misinformation and improve the equitable uptake of vaccines and other forms of preventative health care. She has brought awareness to parents regarding the HPV vaccine for their children, designed interventions to supplement or enhance provider recommendations to increase HPV vaccination, and reduce vaccine hesitancy related to misinformation within social media. Dr. Kornides is a Best Practices Task Group member of the National HPV Vaccination Roundtable.

Dr. Kornides is a member of the Center for Health Incentives & Behavioral Economics, Abramson Cancer Center, and the Penn Medical Communication Research Institute. She is also a member of the Society for Behavioral Medicine and the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine.
