Criteria for Initial 3-year Appointment
Eligibility: Assistant, Associate, and Full Professors with a current faculty position at the University of Pennsylvania and/or CHOP can apply to be LDI Senior Fellows.*
*Rare exceptions for Penn leadership appointments
Requirements for Senior Fellows
1) Spend approximately 75-100 hours per year on related to LDI’s mission. Qualifying activities are broadly defined and include many forms of collaboration, participation, and engagement with LDI and the LDI community. Examples include:
- Research and policy projects
- Serve as an investigator on a research and/or policy project directly connected to LDI's mission
- Prepare a proposal on a research and/or policy project directly connected to LDI's mission with other LDI Senior Fellows
- Teaching
- Teach a course at Penn directly connected to LDI's mission
- Mentorship
- Serve as a mentor to an LDI Associate Fellow
- Serve as a mentor or presenter in the SUMR program
- LDI community involvement
- Serve on an LDI committee
- Regularly attend LDI Research or Policy Seminar Series
- Regularly attend LDI/PSOM Health Services Workshops
- Presentations and original content
- Present public testimony or talks on behalf of LDI
- Prepare blogs for LDI on behalf of its mission
2) Use LDI affiliation on all manuscripts and presentations related to LDI’s mission.
3) Provide annual updates on your LDI-related research, policy, and educational activities, including publications, presentations, grants, etc.
Appointment Process
Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. The initial appointment is for three years.
- Complete the online application form
- Submit a letter specifying how you plan to fulfill approximately 75-100 hours of qualifying activities for the next year
- Submit a curriculum vitae
- Submit a biosketch for the experts section of the LDI website
- Submit a headshot for the experts section of the LDI website
Criteria for Reappointment
Eligibility: Current Senior Fellows with an ongoing faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at the University of Pennsylvania and/or CHOP can apply to renew their LDI Senior Fellow affiliation for another three-year term.
Reappointment requires demonstrated engagement with LDI during the previous 3-year term and an agreement to:
1) Spend approximately 75-100 hours per year on activities related to LDI's mission, including collaboration, participation, and engagement with LDI and the LDI community.
2) Use LDI affiliation on all manuscripts and presentations related to LDI’s mission.
3) Provide, at a minimum, annual updates on your health policy/health systems research, policy and educational activities, including publications, presentations, grants, etc.
