Joshua M. Liao, MD, MSc, FACP is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Services in the School of Public Health. He is also the Associate Medical Director of Value-Based Care and Contracting at UW Medicine and serves as the Director of the UW Medicine Value and Systems Science Lab, which is jointly sponsored by the Office of the Chief Medical Officer and UW Medicine Center for Scholarship in Patient Care Quality and Safety to test and evaluate innovative ways to improve health care delivery. He is board-certified in internal medicine and trained at Brigham & Women’s Hospital where he was also a Clinical Fellow in Medicine at Harvard Medical School and completed a Medical Leadership Track focused on care delivery redesign. Dr. Liao received his health policy and health services training at the University of Pennsylvania. His interests include value-based care transformation, organizational strategy and innovation.
