Christopher McLaughlin, MD, MBA is a fellow in surgical critical care and acute care surgery in the Division of Traumatology, Surgical Critical Care, and Emergency Surgery. Dr. McLaughlin’s interests include trauma systems development, emergency medical services, and economic determinants of health care access in rural and urban settings. In particular, he is interested in leveraging hospitalizations related to acute illness or injury to include elements of primary care, health literacy, and chronic disease management.
Dr. McLaughlin received his BS in Biochemistry from Boston College and his MD from the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. He subsequently completed residency in General Surgery at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, where he served as a post-doctoral research fellow for two years as well as a Rural Health Fellow through the National Rural Health Association.
