Emily Pfender, PhD is a postdoctoral researcher for the AMETHIST project at the Perelman School of Medicine. Her research focuses on how social media and interpersonal messages impact reproductive health behaviors and outcomes, specifically examining underrepresented groups in the United States and Global South. Some of her projects examine messaging about cervical cancer, pregnancy, cycle syncing, menstrual poverty, and contraception. She earned her PhD in Health Communication from the University of Delaware.
